Craffenheim Eydis the Eyeless
The Story of
Eydis the Eyeless
Power, Presence and Picture-Perfect Rottweiler Type
Craffenheim Eydis the Eyeless, daughter of Craffenheim Black (our legendary Rinkhals slayer) and Craffenheim Ariana (a powerful Chris vom Schwaiger Rathaus daughter), is a living example of resilience, bravery, and the indomitable Rottweiler spirit.
At just 6 weeks old, Eydis suffered a freak accident that resulted in the loss of her eye, her cheekbone, and part of her jaw. She underwent emergency surgery at the Johannesburg Specialist Veterinary Clinic and spent a week in intensive rehabilitation. Despite the severity of her injuries, Eydis showed remarkable courage—she healed quickly, adapted instantly, and never once allowed her injury to dim her spirit.
The moment she was able, she went straight back to the important work of being a normal, mischievous, and wildly happy puppy—just with one eye. Her resilience was extraordinary and set the tone for the dog she would become.
As an adult, Eydis has blossomed into SUPERMOM. Her puppies are exceptional in every way: steady in temperament, true to breed standard, and substantial in size and structure. Eydis is arguably the finest mother in our entire kennel. With only one eye, she navigates motherhood instinctively and joyfully—there is simply nothing she cannot do.
Her love for her puppies is matched only by her skill in raising them. Because of her exceptional courage, personality, and the unmistakable mark she leaves on her progeny, we have kept one of her sons—Craffenheim Felix Jones—here with us on the farm to preserve and continue her remarkable legacy.
Eydis is more than a dog. She is a symbol of resilience, a producer of excellence, and a legend in the making at Craffenheim.
